This time, Sara Medková’s piano recital is tailor-made for the American Spring exclusively from compositions of American composers of the second half of the 20th century. The only exception will be the Czech premiere of the author’s interpretation of her own Sonata. All other compositions have a common multimedia overlap, where in addition to the piano playing itself, the performer will present herself in the role of a dancer, singer, percussionist and reciter. 

Sára Medková is one of the leading Czech young pianist. She performed at the prestigious stages in more than twenty European countries, in the US, Asia and Africa, and premiered about 100 new compositions. She was awarded many prizes from international competitions. She performs as a soloist with noteworthy orchestras of both Czech and international acclaim. In 2012 she has received her master degree of piano at the Academy of Music in Prague where she studied with P. Toperczer and I. Kahánek. As the Erasmus student she spent one year at the University of Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden with A. Zenzipér. She attended international master classes under the leadership of Lazar Berman, Eliso Virsaladze, Daniel Pollack, Andrei Gavrilov, Avedis Kouyoumdjian, Inge Rosar, Daan Vandewalle and others.

Sara cooperates with top soloists and ensembles from all over the world.

Her debut CD “De Profundis” was released by Arta Records label in 2017.
